Who we are

Southern Punch Collectibles is an extension of Southern Punch, a fishing and hunting store based in South Louisiana. Owned by Jeff Winston, SP Collectibles was born from a childhood hobby turned lifelong passion.

It started in 1977 on a trip to Florida to visit his grandparents. Jeff picked up a pack of football cards at a local shop, cracked it open, and pulled his uncle’s card. Roy Winston, linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings. For a kid holding a piece of family in his hands, that was it. He was hooked on collecting more cards.

Cards led to more cards. Football, baseball, basketball. Then comics entered the picture. Batman first. Then the slow realization that some issues were rarer than others, that covers varied, that condition mattered. Jeff started paying attention. He learned grading scales, variant pressings, key issues, alternate covers. Nobody taught him. He read, researched, and kept buying until he knew the difference between a good find and a great one.

That curiosity never left. What started as a kid’s hobby became a serious collection, and eventually a business. Now, Jeff sets up at a local Baton Rouge shop where collectors come looking for something worth owning. After nearly five decades, he has over 20,000 comic books, figurines, trading cards, Funko Pops, and more.

Now he’s bringing the collection online. Jeff provides honest grading and a keen eye for the rare stuff. Now it's just a lot easier to find.

From a football card in Florida to over 20,000 collectibles, Jeff has spent his life finding the good stuff. Now you can too.
